Lahore is the second-largest source city for Naran Kaghan tourists — hundreds of Lahori families make the 380km journey to the Kaghan Valley every summer. Here’s the complete 2026 guide for Lahore residents planning a Naran tour.
Lahore to Naran — Route & Distance
Distance: 380km | Drive time: 7–9 hours
From Lahore, take the M-2 Motorway westward to the Islamabad interchange (approximately 3 hours). From the Islamabad bypass, join the Hazara Motorway (M-15) to Havelian, then N-35 through Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot and the Kaghan Valley road to Naran (approximately 4–5 hours from Islamabad). The M-2 Motorway is excellent — 4 lanes, well-maintained, toll-based. Most of the drive is comfortable motorway driving with the mountain section being the most scenic final stretch.
Best Departure Time from Lahore
Depart 4:00 AM from Lahore to reach Naran by 1:00–2:00 PM — giving you an afternoon in the valley on arrival day. Departing at 5:00 AM arrives by 2:30–3:30 PM — still reasonable. Departures after 6:00 AM risk peak-hour delays and late arrival in Naran.
Minimum Days for Lahore Visitors
A minimum 4-day package is strongly recommended for Lahore travelers — 2 travel days + 2 full days in Naran. A 5-day package is more comfortable, adding Shogran to the itinerary. 3-day packages are technically possible but feel rushed given the travel time involved.
Naran Tour Packages from Lahore
Lahore-specific packages are priced slightly higher to account for the additional transport distance. 4-Day Lahore Group Tour: Rs. 22,000/person (shared coaster, budget hotel). 5-Day Family Package from Lahore: Rs. 30,000/person (private AC vehicle, 3-star hotel). Naran + Shogran 5-Day: Rs. 26,000/person. NaranTours pickup points in Lahore: Thokar Niaz Baig M-2 entry, Lahore Ring Road, Gulberg.
